The Jazzfestival Alto Adige is already 30 years old. This music show brings in internationally famous artists who perform on a variety of different stages in Alto Adige. The programme evolves during the first half of July when many open-air or indoor concerts are held throughout the province, be it inside prestigious halls, in historic settings, squares or on the streets.

It is one of the most important dates of Bolzano's cultural programme for the summer. For almost two weeks, in the second half of July, the capital of Alto Adige turns into an artistic display with an international flair for dance lovers and those with an interest. Over the years, world famous artists, national companies and special projects have made this occasion a key reference point in the European dance scene. Bolzano thrives on its deep-rooted duality of cultures, the festival, entertaining, yet educational, attracts professionals and lovers of all forms of dance who find an "excuse" to visit Bolzano in the middle of summer. The schedule of dance shows is accompanied by workshops for the younger ones who are offered special packages: from creative dance to flamenco, from hip hop to meeting the artists, long nights of dance, courses for professionals who wish to improve for example their flamenco or classical ballet, modern dance or latin jazz classes.

Bolzano Festival Bozen

Bolzano: capital of classical music. From 1st August to end of September, the capital of Alto Adige hosts, for two months, the traditional "Bolzano Festival Bozen". On this occasion the whole city centre (and not only) becomes the setting of the most significant music reviews of the summer: the concerts of Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and of the European Union Youth Orchestra; Antiqua, the festival of Ancient Music; the International Piano Competition Ferruccio Busoni and his Festival; master classes of the Gustav Mahler Academy. As previously mentioned, the city's most famous and historic places like the Mareccio Castle, the Mercantile Palace, the Teatro Comunale, the Monteverdi Academy, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Parish Church of Gries turn into a stage.

Bolzano Christmas market

The Christmas Market opens its doors for the 25th time on 26th November at 5pm. Inkeeping with tradition, it will repeat the formula of 80 exhibitors, 8 partners, 3 gastronomy stalls and a small market dedicated to children, guests and fellow citizens, until 6th January.

Calici di stelle – the better way to taste the local wine

On Monday, the 10th august 2015, from 6,30 p.m. to the midnight, tourists and inhabitants can taste the new wine along the beautiful Portici street. Sommeliers and South Tyrolean farmers will be proud to give you all additional information about local wines and its production. Some stands located in Municipio square will complete the offer of this important event. Wine in Bolzano has a long tradition. Everywhere in the city wonderful wine yards adorn the landscape in the environs. In Bolzano you will find more than 20 wine cellars where to taste excellent wines. In particular the city is well known all over Europe thanks to two different wine varieties: Lagrein and Santa Maddalena.
